This website is your introduction to a School that has been transforming lives for over 450 years. It tells you who we are, what we do and why we do it.
I hope to give you a sense of our vision and the way we unlock the potential in your child. The caring and supportive relationships we develop – and the pride we take in our achievements – give your son or daughter the self-belief to reach for their very best at School and in their life beyond.
I do not believe there is such a thing as a complete education. School is just one part of your child’s life, one stage in their life journey. What we teach is exciting and valuable, but it is the way we encourage them to think that is life-changing. Ours is an education without limits.
The unique opportunities here at King Edward’s Witley come from our rich history and free-thinking independence. For us it is the whole experience that counts – our own varied and inspiring educational journey – and the lifelong learning to come. Our ability to connect these elements makes us different.
My role is to create the right learning environment – one that lets pupils thrive, and sets them up, poised and confident, for whatever lies ahead.

King Edward’s pastoral care is rightly fêted as a major strength of the School. Our aim is to enable each individual’s human flourishing and development of their full potential. So pastoral care is both a support network and the aspect of education that allows us to become and develop the people we can be.
King Edward’s ethos is to ensure every pupil has the chance to discover their strengths and to shine, whatever their interests and passions. We deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, where choice is central and the individual learner is given priority. Our emphasis is on coaching, helping pupils to take increasing ownership of their own academic progress as they move through the School.
King Edward’s takes pride in its academic, socio-economic and cultural diversity. The School ensures that all pupils are congratulated for their effort and dedication to achieving personal success. Behind the statistics and results each child has a unique story. In 2020, from our cohort of 83 GCSE candidates, 57.2% achieved 9-7, 79.3% 9-6 and 99.6% 9-4. In the Sixth Form, King Edward’s offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) and A-levels. The IB is followed by 70% of King Edward’s Sixth Form pupils. This year, the cohort of 43 candidates achieved an average points score of 33.9 points out of a possible 45. From our A-level cohort of 18 candidates, 35.3% scored A*-A, 58.8% A*-B and 100% A*-E.
